April 13 2026 Newsletter
This past week in Ottawa–Vanier included a range of meaningful community activities, from serving Easter meals at the Mission to attending a culinary event with students at the University of Ottawa and recording Rogers TV interviews highlighting local initiatives.
There was also time to meet with students and nurses to discuss two key priorities: education and health care.
As I return to Queen’s Park for the next two weeks, work is underway with caucus colleagues to advance shared priorities and respond to growing concerns, including cuts in education and changes that reduce government transparency.
March 27 2026 Newsletter
This week marked the return to Queen’s Park and the tabling of the government’s latest budget. More than numbers, budgets reflect a government’s priorities, and this one falls short of meeting the needs people are facing every day.
Despite the government’s claims, the budget does not do enough to address ongoing pressures in health care, education, mental health, and addictions. In Ottawa–Vanier, these concerns are deeply felt by residents trying to access care, parents worried about their children’s classrooms, and community organizations working with limited resources.
As MPP, I will continue advocating for a more practical approach — one focused on real results, meaningful investment, and stronger support for communities.

Keeping Franco-Ontarian Bookstores Alive: Why Bill 58 Matters
Franco-Ontarian bookstores are more than just shops — they are vital cultural and community spaces. Once numbering 12 across the province, only three remain today. My Bill 58 aims to support these bookstores by requiring publicly funded institutions to purchase their French-language books locally, helping small businesses, strengthening Ontario’s publishing industry, and keeping tax dollars in the province.
Bernard grandmaître:- an exceptional politician
I feel privileged to have known Bernard Grandmaître, a neighbour, friend, and exceptional politician. His leadership and vision have left their mark on the history of Franco-Ontarians, and his legacy continues to strengthen our communities. His passing leaves a great void in our province and in the heart of the Franco-Ontarian community.
Legislative life is looking up for the Liberals
Ontario Liberals have regained official party status at Queen’s Park after clearing the 12-seat threshold in the February election. Ottawa–Vanier MPP Lucille Collard, now serving again as Liberal House Leader, is helping guide a larger caucus with expanded legislative tools, increased speaking time, and a stronger presence in the chamber.
