Support Bill 179 - Fewer Backlogs and Less Partisan Tribunals Act
🗳️ Your voice matters! MPP Ted Hsu, Kingston and the Islands, has introduced Bill 179, the Fewer Backlogs and Less Partisan Tribunals Act, 2024. This bill is designed to address the critical issue of delays in Ontario's tribunals, such as the Landlord and Tenant Board, which have caused unnecessary distress for Ontarians. These delays are largely due to unfilled tribunal seats and appointments of inexperienced individuals.
Bill 179 proposes to reduce these delays by ensuring tribunal appointments are based on merit, rather than political affiliation. By doing so, we can restore fairness, efficiency, and accountability to the system. The debate is scheduled for April 18, 2024.
