Supporting Vulnerable Communities: A Visit to the Maison du Soleil in Cotonou, Benin

During my visit to Cotonou, Benin, I had the privilege of meeting with representatives from the Women’s Network before visiting the Centre d'Accueil et de Protection de l'Enfant. They shared with us the pressing need for additional funding to continue providing essential services to vulnerable populations, particularly at Maison du Soleil, which supports and houses girl mothers. This organization plays a crucial role in offering the care and assistance these women need, but they need further resources to continue their vital work.

One key takeaway from the meeting was the expressed desire for the Fonds Français Muskoka to take on a more international scope to address similar challenges in other regions. I’m proud to be part of the efforts at the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF), which provides a platform for the Francophone world to tackle social issues collaboratively.
