Addressing the Challenges Faced by Medical Professionals

I met with Dr. Nadia Mugisha and her fellow doctors, where we discussed the significant challenges medical professionals face when trying to have their credentials recognized in Canada.

At a time when we are experiencing a critical shortage of doctors – a recent study by the Ontario College of Physicians reports that 2.3 million Ontarians currently do not have a family doctor – it is clear that our government must take action to address these barriers.

The accreditation process remains too complex and costly, creating unnecessary hurdles for skilled professionals eager to contribute to our healthcare system. We must find practical solutions to ensure that qualified doctors who are already here can help meet the needs of all Ontarians.
