Today, we wish a happy International Francophonie Day to the approximately 9.5 million people in Canada who keep the French language alive and share their heritage with fellow Canadians. Let’s celebrate one of Canada’s strengths that unites us in Ottawa-Vanier! Since the beginning, French has shaped our history, identity, and culture and can be found in every corner of our country. Let’s take a moment to recognize the contributions that Francophonie brings to our social fabric. I invite all Franco-Canadians to celebrate our heritage today!
