Children's Online Safety and Privacy Month
As children spend more time online for learning, entertainment, and social connection, it is more important than ever to help them navigate the digital world safely.
Online risks such as cyberbullying, online exploitation, privacy breaches, misinformation, and contact from online predators are growing concerns for families across Ontario. Parents, educators, and caregivers play a vital role in helping young people develop healthy online habits and the skills they need to stay safe.
That is why MPP Stephen Blais and I introduced legislation to establish October as Children's Online Safety and Privacy Month in Ontario. Beginning this year and every year moving forward, October serves as a dedicated opportunity to raise awareness, promote digital literacy, and equip families with practical tools to help children navigate online spaces safely and responsibly.
Protecting children online is a shared responsibility. By working together, we can help young people build the confidence, knowledge, and critical thinking skills they need to thrive in today's digital world.
